# Cards

> Create and manage virtual cards for your team — with spend controls, approval workflows, and real-time transaction visibility.

The Cards section is where you create, view, and manage every virtual card on your Dash.fi account. Cards are virtual by default and can be configured with spend limits, category restrictions, and cardholder assignments before being issued.

## Card types

Dash.fi has two dimensions of card type:

**Recurring vs Single-Use (standard cards)**

* **Recurring** — standard multi-use card for ongoing or repeat charges (subscriptions, ad platforms, software). Most cards are this type.
* **Single-Use** — automatically deactivates after the first successful transaction. Useful for one-off purchases where you want the card to expire immediately after use.

The type is set at creation and can't be changed afterwards.

**Rewards cards**
A separate card product accessible from the Rewards section. Rewards cards can be virtual or physical, and are managed separately from standard cards. See [Manage Cards](/cards/manage-cards) for how to request a physical Rewards Card.

## What you see in the card list

The card list shows all cards you have permission to view. By default, archived cards are hidden — use the status filter to include them.

Each card row shows:

* Card name
* Last four digits and card colour
* Cardholder
* Spend limit and amount spent to date
* Status (active cards have no badge; frozen and archived cards show a status badge)

Click any card to open the detail sheet, where you can see full spending data, reveal card details, and take management actions.

## Card states

| State    | What it means                                                |
