In some cases, charging a card directly inside Meta can result in payment declines — even when your card is active and has sufficient credit. Routing your Dash.fi card through PayPal before connecting it to Meta adds an extra layer of payment processing stability, which can improve reliability and reduce the frequency of failed transactions. This guide walks you through linking your Dash.fi card to PayPal and then setting PayPal as your primary payment method in Meta.

Part 1: Add your Dash.fi card to PayPal

1

Log in to PayPal

Go to paypal.com and sign in to your PayPal account.
2

Open Banks and Cards

In the left navigation menu, click Banks and Cards.
3

Link a new card

Click Link a card or Add debit or credit card.
4

Enter your Dash.fi card details

Fill in the following fields:
  • Card Number
  • Expiration Date
  • CVV
  • Billing Address — this must match the billing address on file with your Dash.fi account exactly.
5

Save the card

Click Link Card to save your Dash.fi card to PayPal.
6

Complete verification if prompted

PayPal may require a verification step — either a small temporary charge to your card or a one-time passcode (OTP). Follow the on-screen instructions to complete verification.
The billing address you enter in PayPal must match the address associated with your Dash.fi account. Mismatched addresses are a common cause of card-linking failures.

Part 2: Set PayPal as your payment method in Meta

1

Open Ad Account Settings in Ads Manager

Go to adsmanager.facebook.com and navigate to Ad Account Settings.
2

Access Payment Settings

Click Billing, then Payment Settings, and then Add Payment Method.
3

Select PayPal

Choose PayPal from the list of available payment methods and click Next.
4

Authorize PayPal

A pop-up window will appear asking you to log in to PayPal. Sign in to your PayPal account and confirm the authorization to connect PayPal to Meta.
5

Set PayPal as your primary payment method

Once PayPal has been added, click Set as Primary or Make Default to ensure Meta uses PayPal (and therefore your Dash.fi card) for all future charges.

Best practices

  • Maintain sufficient Dash.fi balance — Before launching or scaling campaigns, confirm your Dash.fi card has enough available credit to cover your expected ad spend for the period.
  • Avoid repeated failed payment attempts — Frequent declined transactions can trigger temporary restrictions from both PayPal and Meta. Address any issues promptly.
  • Use PayPal as a reliability buffer — PayPal’s payment processing layer can smooth over issues that would otherwise cause direct card charges to fail inside Meta.

Troubleshooting

Double-check that the card number, expiration date, and CVV are entered correctly. Confirm that the billing address you entered matches your Dash.fi account exactly. Also verify that your Dash.fi card is active by logging in to app.dash.fi.
Try removing and re-adding your PayPal account in Meta’s payment settings. If PayPal still doesn’t appear, clear your browser cache or try completing the setup in a different browser.
If payments continue to fail, try switching to a newly issued Dash.fi card — sometimes a fresh card number resolves persistent decline issues. If the problem persists, contact support@dash.fi for assistance.
