Sign-in methods
The mobile app supports the same methods as the web dashboard:
Tap the method you want on the login screen. Google and Microsoft redirect through your device’s native browser or account picker, then return you to the app.
Choosing an organization
If your email belongs to more than one Dash.fi organization, you’ll see an organization selection screen after authenticating. Tap the organization you want to sign in to. If you only belong to one organization, the app skips this step and signs you in automatically. If the organization you select requires MFA, the verification screen shows the organization name above the code entry. Confirm the name before entering your code.Multi-factor authentication on mobile
If your account has two-factor authentication enrolled, the app prompts for a 6-digit code after you choose an organization. The mobile app supports the same two methods as the web dashboard: authenticator app (TOTP) and text message (SMS). You can enroll and manage factors in-app during sign-in, or from the web dashboard under Profile → Security. See Two-factor authentication for background on the two methods.Authenticator app
The verification screen shows “Please enter the 6-digit code from your authenticator app”. Open your authenticator, then type or paste the current code for Dash.fi. If a 6-digit code is already on your clipboard, tap Paste code to fill the field.Text message
When SMS is your default method, Dash.fi sends a code automatically as soon as the verification screen loads. The screen shows the code was sent to a masked preview of your number (for example,+1XXXXXX1234) so you can confirm which phone will receive it.
- Resend code — the button counts down for 30 seconds after each send, then becomes tappable as Resend code. Use it if the message hasn’t arrived.
- Autofill — on Android, codes from Dash.fi’s SMS can be autofilled into the code field. On iOS, use the one-time code suggestion above the keyboard, or tap Paste code after copying the code from Messages.
Switching methods
If you’re enrolled in both factors, the verification screen shows a link under the description:- Use a text message instead — switches from the authenticator prompt to SMS and sends a code to your enrolled number.
- Use your authenticator app instead — switches from SMS back to the authenticator prompt.
Recovery codes
If you can’t access either factor, use one of the recovery codes you saved during setup. Recovery-code entry currently lives on the web dashboard. Open Dash.fi in a browser, sign in, and choose Use recovery code instead on the verification screen. Each recovery code works only once.Setting up MFA on mobile
If your organization requires two-factor authentication and you haven’t enrolled a factor yet, the app takes you to the Secure your account screen after you choose your organization. You have to enroll a factor to continue — completing enrolment is what signs you in. If your organization doesn’t require MFA, you can still add a factor from the same screen when you’re prompted, or add one later during a sign-in that reaches the enrolment chooser.Authenticator app
1
Get your setup key
Tap Authenticator app on the chooser, then Get setup key. The app generates a setup key and a set of recovery codes.
2
Link your authenticator
Tap Open authenticator app to hand the key off to Google Authenticator, Authy, or another authenticator installed on the same device. If you’d rather type it in, tap Copy the setup key instead and paste it into your authenticator.
3
Save your recovery codes
The recovery codes are shown below the setup key. Save them somewhere safe — each one signs you in once if you lose access to your authenticator. Tap I’ve saved my codes to continue.
4
Confirm the code
Enter the current 6-digit code your authenticator shows for Dash.fi. If a 6-digit code is on your clipboard, tap Paste code to fill the field. Setup is complete once the code is accepted.
Text message
1
Enter your phone number
Tap Text message on the chooser, enter the mobile number you want to receive codes on, and tap Send code. Confirm the number on the review step — once a code is sent, that number is tied to your account until you verify it.
2
Verify the code
Dash.fi texts a 6-digit code to the number. Enter it in the code field. Autofill works the same way as the sign-in SMS code — Android fills it automatically, and iOS offers it as a one-time code suggestion. If the message doesn’t arrive, wait for the 30-second Resend code countdown to finish and tap it to send a new code.
3
Save your recovery codes
If this is your first factor, the app shows recovery codes after the number is verified. Save them somewhere safe — each one signs you in once.
Adding a second factor
After enrolling one factor, the chooser returns with the enrolled method marked Added and the other still available. Tap the other row to add it, or tap Continue to enter the app. You can also remove or replace factors later from Profile → Security on the web dashboard.Trouble with MFA on mobile
- Invalid code — the app shows “Invalid code. Please check your authenticator app and try again” or “Please check your messages and try again”. Codes expire quickly; enter the newest one your authenticator shows, or request a fresh SMS.
- We couldn’t send a code to your phone number — Dash.fi couldn’t deliver an SMS to the number on file. Contact your organization admin to update it under Profile → Security on the web dashboard.
- Too many attempts — you’ve hit the rate limit for send or verify attempts. Wait a moment before trying again, or switch to your other enrolled factor.
- Session expired — return to the login screen and sign in again. This happens when the sign-in flow is left idle for too long before you enter a code.
Switching organizations
If you belong to more than one organization, you can switch in-app without signing out:- Tap your avatar in the top-right of the home screen.
- Tap the organization name at the top of the menu.
- Choose another organization from the list.
Biometric lock
After signing in, the app requires biometric authentication — Face ID or Touch ID — to protect your account when the app is opened from the background. Each time you leave the app and return, the lock screen appears before any private screen is accessible. Tap the lock icon to prompt biometric re-authentication. If biometrics aren’t enabled on your device, the app will prompt you to enable them in your device settings.Biometrics are required to use the app. If your device doesn’t support Face ID or Touch ID, contact support@dash.fi.
